On behalf of a coalition of zoos and aquariums, McAllister & Quinn’s Nonprofit practice worked with Congress to ensure that emergency grants for zoos, aquariums and other large nonprofit organizations were included in the American Rescue Plan legislation. Approximately $1.2B in funding was provided through the Shuttered Venue Operator grants, an emergency program to provide relief to venue operators including zoos, aquariums, museums, and other cultural institutions who were negatively impacted by COVID-19. Two of McAllister & Quinn clients received over $10M in funding each, the maximum award, from this program.
