Kaitlyn Sands is a Managing Director of Grants and Federal Affairs in the Higher Education Practice at McAllister & Quinn. In this role, Kaitlyn works with college and university clients to plan and manage the delivery of grant-seeking services that focus on securing funding opportunities that support institutional priorities and faculty-initiated research. During her time at McAllister & Quinn, Kaitlyn has worked with client institutions to win nearly $18 million in federal funding. She brings an extensive background in higher education fundraising and project management.
Before joining McAllister & Quinn, Kaitlyn spent 15 years in development, raising “margin of excellence” funding to support Department of Defense sponsored higher education institutions, including, the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy, and the Army War College. She is an army veteran who served both stateside and abroad.
Kaitlyn holds an MBA with Technology Management Emphasis from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, an MS in Nonprofit and Association Management from the University of Maryland, University College, and a BA in English with honors from the University of Oklahoma. She currently serves on McAllister & Quinn’s Social Impact Working Group, informing and highlighting to both internal and external stakeholders the important work our clients accomplish made possible through federal funding.
