Dr. Jessica C. Gerrity is Senior Vice President and Leader of the Higher Education Practice at McAllister & Quinn. Her leadership has drawn millions of dollars in federal and foundation funding for higher education clients toward a broad array of strategic initiatives to benefit students, faculty, and programs. She’s also cultivated partnerships with other organizations to advance higher education thought leadership through conference presentations, webinars, and panel discussions. Her contributions have helped to position the firm as the premier higher education grants consulting firm in the field. As leader of the Higher Education Practice, she continues to work closely with McAllister & Quinn Managing Partner John McAllister to develop and implement strategic goals for the practice.
Dr. Gerrity brings to her role 20 years of experience. Before joining McAllister & Quinn, Dr. Gerrity managed research and policy analysis at the Congressional Research Service at the Library of Congress. Prior to her work at CRS, she taught political science at Washington College and served as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow in the office of Senator Jack Reed, specializing in healthcare policy.
Dr. Gerrity has received several competitive grants and fellowships and her research is published in a number of scholarly journals and books such as The British Journal of Political Science, Politics and Gender, Politics and Policy, and Congress and the Presidency and The Washington Post. She worked as a Research Assistant at the Center on Congress, run by Representative Lee Hamilton, at Indiana University, and as a Senior Research Assistant at The Brookings Institution in Washington, DC.
Dr. Gerrity teaches courses on public policy and American politics in Indiana University’s, Washington, DC, Internship Program and for Boston University’s Washington Semester Program. She holds a Ph.D. in political science from Indiana University, a M.A. in sociology from George Mason University, and a B.A. in political science from the University of Rochester, where she graduated cum laude.
