Frank Boyd is Vice President of the Higher Education Practice at McAllister & Quinn. Frank brings 26 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member and academic administrator.
Frank has served as a consultant for many small and mid-sized colleges, and he has presented at numerous conferences on issues of shared governance in higher education. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium, where he has led a national study of collaboration between academic leaders and college advancement at 34 colleges and universities. Frank was Provost and Academic Dean at Guilford College from 2017-2020 after serving as a faculty member and academic administrator at Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU). While there, he served in a variety of administrative positions including Department Chair, Director of General Education, Associate Dean, Associate Provost and Interim Provost. Frank regularly speaks and consults on issues of shared governance in higher education, and he served two terms on the Board of the American Conference of Academic Deans.
Frank received his BA from the University of Alabama in Latin American Studies, and he earned his PhD in political science from Emory University. While at Emory, he served as a staff member at the Carter Center and participated in elections monitoring efforts in Guyana, Panama, Mexico, and the United States.
