The California Trauma Recovery Center grant (TRC) is open for nonprofits serving survivors of violent crime in California.
The California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB) is offering the Trauma Recovery Center Grant for Fiscal Year 2026–2027 to support organizations that provide wrap-around services to victims of violent crime. This grant is designed to fund Trauma Recovery Centers that deliver mental health and social services to individuals who often fall through the cracks of traditional support systems.
California Trauma Canter Grant Specifics
- Funding Amounts: The total funds have not yet been designated. However, in previous award cycles, the total funding was around $12-$13 million. Nine awards were made in the 2023/2024 competition, ranging from $839,607 to $1,672,000.
- Duration: Grants are awarded for two fiscal years.
- Deadline: December 15, 2025
- Eligibility: Nonprofits operating in California that serve unserved or underserved victims of violent crime.
- Services Supported: Assertive outreach, clinical case management, trauma-informed therapy, law enforcement assistance, and referrals to community resources.

In Fiscal Year 2024 alone, TRC-funded programs trained over 350,000 child-serving professionals and provided trauma-informed services to more than 18,000 individuals.
