Recent McAllister & Quinn Nonprofit Earmark Successes

McAllister & Quinn’s leadership has decades of experience working with Congress to direct funding toward our clients’ priorities. Our team has worked with members of Congress and the Appropriations Committees in both the House and the Senate to increase funding for specific federal programs, ensure that client priorities are included in legislation, and establish new grant funding programs to support our clients’ goals and objectives.

With the return of congressionally directed spending, also known as “community projects” or “earmarks” through the annual appropriations process, McAllister & Quinn has helped our clients draft program concept papers, identify the correct accounts in the 12 annual appropriations bills, select the most strategic Members of Congress and Senators to pitch the projects to, set up all the required congressional meetings, and complete and submit the required earmark request forms prior to the deadlines. Through the congressional earmark/community project process the Nonprofit Practice has assisted our clients in accessing $13.5 million in earmark project funding in the last 2 years and have millions more pending in the FY 2024 appropriations process.

Notable projects include:

• $350,000 for a social services agency to provide behavioral health services in their early childhood center.
• More than $1.2 million for a zoo to renovate its conservation facilities for critically endangered birds.
• $2.2 million for 9 community clinics to purchase equipment and upgrade their clinics.
• $5 million over multiple projects for a children’s hospital to purchase state-of-the-art equipment.
