As a Research Analyst within the Higher Education Practice at McAllister and Quinn, Ray Marks helps support the firm’s research and analytical needs. In her work, she supports the needs of clients and directors by discovering and curating information regarding funding opportunities, monitoring client success, and attending to various other needs of the higher education practice.
Before joining McAllister & Quinn, Ray worked as a research assistant for the sociology and linguistics departments at McGill University. In these roles, Ray studied how influential members of North American society create and respond to claims of racism. Beyond academics, she volunteered as a peer counselor to support the mental health needs of her peers and acted as President of the Society of Linguistics Undergraduates at McGill. Ray graduated with the distinction of Joint Honours First Class from McGill University with a focus in Sociology and Linguistics. Her theses examined how DC residents’ perception of crime in their neighborhoods shifted in 2020, and how learners of a second language comprehend differing phonologies
