Kara Fisher first joined McAllister & Quinn as the Grants Network Manager in January 2022. Since then, she has learned the intricacies of the grants network and has engaged with hundreds of consultants. In her current role as Director, Kara leads network operations by delivering training and resources, managing network capacity, recruiting, and driving process improvements and efficiencies for our network of more than 250 grant consultants.

Prior to joining McAllister & Quinn, Kara served as a Private Donor Services Officer at CAF America, an international intermediary grantmaking organization. She managed individual, corporate, and private foundation client grant programs. She successfully led a team to complete hundreds of expenditure responsibility reviews and facilitated millions in tax-effective gifts to charities worldwide. In addition to supporting her donor clients, Kara served as the organization’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion working group co-lead to provide internal process recommendations and further engage staff in external DEI initiatives.

Kara graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in International Studies and a minor in Chinese Studies. As a Mandarin speaker, she spent a semester in Shanghai studying and interning with a nonprofit to provide English language education to disenfranchised primary school students, while researching the inequalities of China’s internal migrant workers.
