Emily Bratten provides leadership to McAllister & Quinn’s healthcare practice to support its internal team and clients. In this role, she oversees practice management, professional development, business development, and communications efforts for the healthcare practice, as well as strengthening the team’s shared knowledge base and implementing best practices to support the delivery of high-quality services for clients.
Prior to joining McAllister & Quinn, Emily worked for two major health system foundations. At Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH), New Jersey’s largest health system, she led grant projects that raised more than $40 million. She worked closely alongside McAllister & Quinn as a client for nearly seven years, seeing firsthand the value that the firm’s expertise brought to strengthen federal grant strategies and award successes at HMH. She also led the foundation grants team for St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ, an urban safety net hospital system on the forefront of addressing the opioid crisis, improving social determinants of health, and advancing health equity. Earlier in her career, wrote corporate and foundation grants for CancerCare, the leading national organization providing support services and information to help people manage the challenges of cancer, as well as for the New York City chapter of the Boy Scouts of America.
Emily has taken leadership roles in the fundraising industry, including co-leading a webinar for NonProfit PRO and serving as a past corporate and foundation giving track co-chair for the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Fundraising Day in New York, the largest single-day conference on philanthropy. In addition, she has served as a trustee and grants chair for her local educational foundation and has been a member of the Grants Professionals Association and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. Emily graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication, with a second degree in Romance Languages – French. A New York metro area native, Emily lives in Allendale, NJ with her husband, Eric, and children, Luke and Madeleine.
