Derryck Hains serves as a Core Team Director for the firm’s Advanced Technology Practice. In this position, he monitors changing federal priorities and matches clients to new federal funding opportunities. Derryck’s focal points are supporting biotechnology, energy, semiconductors, telecommunications, quantum and defense industry clients on the cutting edge of technology innovation. Prior to this role, Derryck was a Research Analyst on the Advanced Technology and Government Relations Practices where he helped coordinate the firm’s appropriations portfolio and client projects from the CHIPS and Science Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the Inflation Reduction Act.

Prior to joining McAllister & Quinn, Derryck served on political campaigns in New York including a 2018 Congressional campaign, the 2021 Buffalo Mayoral Race, and several state senate races with a primary focus on rural outreach, communications, and voter database management. Derryck also spent time as a native speaker English teacher at EA-Edu and a public High School in Pleszew, Poland. In this role, he prepared students of all ages and skill levels to develop their conversational English skills for personal, work, and university entrance exam applications.”
