Dania Sohail serves as a Director of Federal Affairs within McAllister & Quinn’s Research Universities Practice. In this role, Dania works with top research universities including R1s and R2s to set and execute tailored federal relations strategies. Dania supports clients by identifying opportunities to engage with the federal government, allowing them to advocate for their interests while developing meaningful relationships on Capitol Hill. She provides timely and expert analysis on key policy and legislative issues including science, technology, and higher education broadly, working closely with faculty and university leadership to prepare them for meetings and testimony on Capitol Hill, as well as meetings with federal agency stakeholders.
As an expert in the federal appropriations process, Dania facilitates efforts to identify and pursue funding pathways that align closely with institutional priorities through congressionally directed spending requests. Since joining McAllister & Quinn, Dania has helped institutions of higher education secure over $100 million in community project and programmatic funding through Congress. Dania holds a Bachelor of Arts from American University in Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government.
