Brittany Martin, Ph.D.

Managing Director

Brittany C. Martin, Ph.D., is a Managing Director of Grants and Federal Affairs in McAllister & Quinn’s Higher Education Practice. She brings extensive experience in higher education grant strategy, helping colleges and universities identify, pursue, and plan for federal and foundation funding opportunities that advance their institutional priorities.

Since joining McAllister & Quinn, Dr. Martin has developed deep expertise across numerous agencies and funders, including the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Department of Education, Department of Justice, Department of Defense, and a wide range of private foundations.

Dr. Martin also leads the Higher Education Practice’s capacity benchmarking analyses and grants operations assessments. The capacity benchmarking analysis evaluates an institution’s performance across key domains—such as research activity, funding competitiveness, and collaboration—by comparing it to peer and aspirational institutions, providing strategic insights to enhance impact. Grants operations assessments identify barriers, opportunities, and recommendations for strengthening grant-seeking and grant management practices through stakeholder interviews and a comprehensive review of policies, procedures, and institutional goals.

Before joining McAllister & Quinn, Dr. Martin served as Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University of North Texas, where she oversaw foundation grant strategy and supported faculty in securing significant foundation awards. Previously, she directed corporate, foundation, and government relations at Austin College, where she led all grant-seeking efforts. She designed and implemented the college’s grant management policies and procedures to support effective proposal development and award administration.
