Alec Simantov joined McAllister & Quinn as the Senior Research Analyst for the Research Universities Practice in February 2022. In his role, Alec assists with strategic intelligence monitoring for client priorities, policy and legislative analysis, business development and communications, and client service support. Alec supports internal content and knowledge management to shape the growth and development of the practice.

Prior to joining McAllister & Quinn, Alec spent five years at StateScape, providing legislative and regulatory tracking and research to industry, non-profit, and government clients. Alec spearheaded cross-team collaboration and introduced standardization of practices that led to productivity gains at the firm. Before this, Alec served as a Research Assistant for ACG Analytics covering a range of policy issues including energy and environment, trade, tax, and financial services.

Alec holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government. He received his B.A. in History and B.A. in Linguistics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
