McAllister & Quinn congratulates Newman University and Garden City Community College (GCCC) on receiving a $3.4 million award through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s Regional Partnership Grant Program to expand healthcare workforce training and strengthen rural healthcare capacity across western and southwestern Kansas. This funding was awarded through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) as part of the Kansas Rural Health Transformation Program.
KDHE Funded Project Strengthens Rural Healthcare in Kansas
The project will expand rural healthcare access by strengthening the training pipeline for high-demand healthcare roles across western and southwestern Kansas. Building on programs at Newman University and GCCC, the initiative will create and enhance training pathways in areas where workforce shortages are most severe, with a focus on equipping students for careers that support modern, community-based care. Through partnerships with CommonSpirit, regional hospitals, colleges, and community organizations, the project will help identify, recruit, train, and retain healthcare professionals while building long-term regional capacity to meet the health needs of rural Kansas communities.
By bringing together stakeholders, aligning strategy, and managing the proposal development effort, McAllister & Quinn helped supported this application on behalf of our client, Newman University. Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in this impactful initiative to strengthen the long-term health and resilience of communities across the State of Kansas.
