As Director of Grants and Federal Affairs, Michael works with clients to identify and pursue grant opportunities aligned with their strengths, goals, and strategic priorities. He assembles and manages teams of proposal development professionals who possess expertise aligned with specific opportunities, and he oversees proposal preparation from team member introductions through delivery.

Michael brings over 25 years of broad-based experience in corporate and foundation relations and grant management to his work. Immediately prior to joining McAllister & Quinn, Michael served as director of grants and contracts at Jobs for the Future, a workforce- and education-focused intermediary, where he managed and participated on proposal development teams and conducted compliance reviews for grant and contract proposals and reports. He had previously served as director of grants and sponsored program administration at Johnson and Wales University (JWU) where he managed proposal development teams and pre-award compliance; developed and administered grant-related policies and procedures; served as principal proposal and report writer; and helped launch JWU’s institutional review board, subsequently serving as ex officio member. Prior to JWU, Michael managed corporate and foundation relationships, wrote proposals and reports, and worked with clinicians, early childhood educators, faculty members, artists, and designers to secure funding for scholarships, programs, facilities, and creative endeavors at Meeting Street, a child development agency, and at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), both in Providence, R.I.
