Garrett Knothe serves as the Director of Federal Affairs at McAllister and Quinn. In this role, Garrett supports the Healthcare and Research Universities practices by tracking and analyzing federal legislation; prospecting relevant federal, state and foundation grant programs for clients; and assisting in coordinating internal communication between practices. Garrett provides substantive analysis on important programs and provisions in annual appropriation bills and advanced intelligence on new federal spending priorities specifically within the Department of Health and Human Services. Garrett closely monitors congressional and administration policy affecting clients and provides analysis and recommendations on government relations strategy. He also takes a leadership role in the business development activities within the Healthcare practice and assists with managing and training interns. Garrett also manages McAllister and Quinn’s political fundraising activities.

Garrett has been with McAllister and Quinn since 2019 and has served as both an intern and government relations and administrative assistant. A graduate of The State University Of New York College at Brockport, Garrett has worked with a diverse client portfolio including for-profit and non-profit companies, institutions of higher education and health systems across the country. Prior to joining McAllister and Quinn, Garrett worked with the United Nations Association of Rochester, NY, and New York State Senator Rich Funke.
