Garrett Knothe serves as Director of Federal Affairs at McAllister & Quinn. In this role, Garrett leads client lobbying and government relations teams setting congressional and agency engagement strategies, working closely with client leadership and government affairs offices. Garrett specializes in federal appropriations which has resulted in over $50 million in wins for his clients since 2020, managing projects that funded economic and workforce development, applied research with the Department of Defense, student support services, public safety, infrastructure, and capital projects. His appropriations and authorization expertise provides advanced intelligence and strategic advice to clients which increases their competitiveness and success rates in securing federal funding for their priorities.

Garrett closely monitors congressional and administration policy affecting clients and provides analysis and recommendations on government relations strategies. He has supported client testimony in front of Congressional committees, and advocates and coordinates events for his clients on Capitol Hill. Garrett manages the firm’s political fundraising activities, developing meaningful relationships with fundraisers and members of Congress on both sides of the political aisle.

A graduate of The State University Of New York College at Brockport, Garrett has worked with a diverse client portfolio including for-profit and non-profit companies, institutions of higher education, defense contractors, trade associations, labor unions, and health systems across the country. Prior to joining McAllister and Quinn, Garrett worked with the United Nations Association of Rochester, NY, and New York State Senator Rich Funke.
