HRSA, Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship (AENT)

HRSA, Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship (AENT)  The program provides financial support to increase the number of primary care providers by providing traineeships to nurses who are pursuing advanced degrees as primary care nurse practitioners (NP) or nurse-midwives. The traineeships can include the costs of full or partial tuition, books, and fees and stipends (reasonable living expenses) during period which the traineeship is provided. Trainees must remain in academic good standing, in accordance with their institution’s standards. Emphasis is placed on contributing to a diverse nursing workforce. Deadline: Expected January 2015 (Anticipate FY15 solicitation’s release in December) Eligibility: Collegiate schools of nursing, nursing centers, academic health centers, State or local governments and other public or private nonprofit entities; all nursing programs and consortium partners associated with the project must be accredited for the purpose of nursing education. Award Amount: $350,000 per year for up to two years ($700K total) Total Program Funding: $22.75M Expected Number of Awards: 65 Previously Funded Projects: Barry University: $340,340; Fairfield University: $264,000; Quinnipiac University: $700,000   Link to HRSA
