Cenikor Foundation receives $200,00 HRSA Rural Communities Opioid Response grant

The Cenikor Foundation in Houston, TX received a Rural Communities Opioid Response Program Planning grant, a new program in the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The project seeks to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with opioid overdoses in two high-risk rural communities, Hill and Bosque counties in Texas, by strengthening the Texas Rural Health Consortium. The Texas Rural Health Consortium was formed in response to the substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery deserts that plague rural Texas. Through this grant, the Consortium organization and infrastructure capacity will be strengthened and be positioned to expand prevention efforts in the service area while bringing treatment and recovery options to the target population.
