FSA Wins Grant to Reduce Recidivism

The McAllister & Quinn nonprofit team recently assisted the Family Service Agency of Santa Barbra (FSA) in obtaining a grant from the Laura and John Arnold Foundation. The award is for $498,424 over a two year period. This funding will go to support the Adult Holistic Defense Case Management program, a partnership between FSA and the Santa Barbara County Public Defender’s office. The goal of the program is to reduce recidivism through innovative, individualized, and intensive case management that addresses the dynamic risk factors for the criminal behavior of each client served. The FSA hopes that this program will become a model for systemic change within the criminal justice system by demonstrating the viability of a cultural shift from focusing on a specific criminal act and its punishment to addressing the life circumstances that led to that act.
