Emily O’Connor serves as Managing Director of Grants and Federal Affairs at McAllister & Quinn, where she works with clients to identify, pursue, and secure federal and foundation funding. Emily works closely with clients to match institutional and faculty research strengths with timely and relevant funding opportunities that have a greater chance of success. She helps faculty to engage proactively with federal agencies, provides strategic advice and counsel on grant projects, and manages all aspects of the application process, beginning first with the concept paper and later with the deployment of comprehensive grant writing and review services that help strengthen the final submission. Emily’s work at McAllister & Quinn has generated millions of dollars in federal grant funding for small colleges. She has been particularly successful in securing federal funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and US Department of Education (ED).
Before joining McAllister & Quinn in 2011, Emily was a constituent advocate and later a legislative assistant to former Congressman Brad Ellsworth (IN), where she had in-depth exposure to higher education, K-12 education, science and technology, energy, environment, healthcare, and transportation issues.
Emily is a graduate of Indiana University where she earned a bachelor of science in human development and family studies.
